[By now at the very least, she knows what his camera is like! Only one of those was purchased.

She watches him with a smile, laughing at his excitement. When he's most of the way through, she decides to speak up.]

Um, so whichever ones don't work now and won't later, I'll need to take those back... [They aren't cheap.]

[Aww. But he understands. He's thrilled she got him anything at all.]

Yeah. Totally.

[Once he's had a glance at everything, he picks through them more carefully, sizing them up and figuring out which would work with his current arsenal.]

How many do you think I could away with wearing at the same time? Like, what's the line between practical and overkill?

That's a good question. [She won't mention she barely considered that part. Good job, girl.

Kaname walks over and picks up one, moving to fasten it around his waist.]

It depends on what and how much you'd like to carry with you.

Didn't have to worry about that with the armiger.

[Though this isn't the first time he's been cut off from the magic pocket where all things are kept.]

At least a pistol and a rifle. If I could fit in the laser gun, that'd be good too.

[Running out of ammo was a real concern now. He runs his hands over the belt and down to where the gun would sit.]

I know. [Her tone is sympathetic, it's why she did this. Kaname watches him give it a good feel, smiling a little.]

Three sounds like it would be a lot. What about a knife or dagger instead?

Yeah... I'm used to having a lot. [Just, not quite like this.

He gives her suggestion a little hum of thought.]

Maybe? I wasn't given a lot of training with them, though. I know where the pointy end is!

That's a start for sure. [Despite the seriousness of the issue, she does smile at his humor.]

Are you able to resummon your weapons to you if they're knocked out of your hold, or was that something else with the magic? [Kaname's asking questions to think about how to do this. It's her job to plan, and that's not something she easily ceases doing, especially when it comes to the (hypothetical) safety of the people she cares about.

She moves over to sit back down on the bed, brows slightly creased in thought.]

[He shakes his head while picking up and studying a rifle strap.]

Part of the magic. If I dropped them, I could send them to the armiger and call them back into my hands. Gonna have to remember not to throw them away when I'm done with them. [He laughs wryly. Fortunately, much of his summoning mimicked holstering and re-holstering the guns, even if they were being magicked away.]

What about lessons? For armed combat with a knife.

[It's not far fetched or out of the realm of possibility at all. Looking at him, she holds out a hand for him to take. Come reassure her.]

That's ... probably not a bad idea. Just in case? [Still, he frowns, taking the offered hand.] Iggy, Noct, and Gladio handled all the up close and personal stuff, usually. I was better at a distance.

[She squeezes his hand a bit, then lets go, letting him look over anything else if he wants.]

Fighting at a distance isn't always possible.

Yeah, I know. For that, I had a couple heavy-hitters. But, not here.

[Granted most of his machinery weapons were still ranged. Picking the baddies off from a distance was his job!

He doesn't go back to the items right away, instead opting to move a few things aside and sit down next to her. If it will make her feel better that he learns to use a knife, then by the Six, he'll be the best knife-person there is. (Or try.)]

We can still keep an eye out for one that could work.

[She watches him sit, automatically leaning in once he's settled, though she pauses at his question. Kaname can feel her face warm, and she doesn't try to fight the goofy smile he manages to elicit.]

I think you mentioned it in passing when you ended our conversation the other week. Somewhat.

I have been. But circular saws modded into bulky weaponry aren't all that common. Who knew?

[He leans as well, pressing against her weight and rocking a little. He tilts his head up to hide his own blush.]

Only somewhat? I guess I owe you then. I love you this... [He spreads his arms, one behind her back.] No. Thiiiiis much. [He stretches them as far as they will go, fingers pointing outward.] It goes on forever, see?

[She huffs in amusement at the weapons comment, attention now paid to his demonstration.

As over the top and ridiculous as it is, the sentiment behind it strikes a chord. Kaname reaches out to grab the hand of the arm that's not behind her and pull it close. She places it on her chest, right over her heard which is beating rather quickly.]

Mhm, I do see. [She rests her head on his shoulder.] And this is yours.

[Her heart.]

[He lets his hand rest there for a moment, trying and failing to find the right words. He's never been good with this sort of thing (not that it happened often - or, ever - before now).

His free arm curls around her from behind drawing her closer.] I'll protect it with my life.

[Kaname exhales through her nose, both in appreciation for the tighter hold (she likes it when he does that) and his words. She relaxes against him, completely at ease.]

You don't need to go that far. [Even if she'd do the same for him. Her hand drops from his to rest in her lap as she closes her eyes.]

I think I'm becoming spoiled by how happy I am with you.

[He's already decided he does need to go that far. Promise made, no take backs.

He sighs, content, wrapping his arms fully around her and squeezes.]

Good. You deserve to be happy. [He gives her a little jostle and kiss on the cheek.] Now help me figure out which of these things makes me look the most badass so we can go get some of your money back.

[Kaname reaches out and shoves the pile aside, most of it falling to the floor. Her face presses into the crook of his neck, they're both falling back against the pillows now. She rests partially on top of him.

With a breathy laugh of amusement against his neck, she shakes her head.]

Those can wait. I just wanted this first.

Oh.

[He falls back with zero resistance and an amused huff, wiggling to get more comfortable.]

This is good too.

[He gently grips one of her arms to urge her up from his neck. He can't kiss her if she's down there.]

Mm.

[Another shake of her head. Instead, she kisses him there, snuggling closer.]

I love you.

[He huffs good-naturedly and settles for patting around for one of her hands instead.]

Love you, too.

It was a lot of shopping, I'm pretty tired. [They both know she can handle a lot more than some shopping.] I hope you don't mind if I stay like this for a little.

[Ha.] Hey, Prompto?

Yeah. Of course. Don't mind at all.

[He's happy no matter what.]

When we're like this, what do you think about? [A pause, then she turns her face to look at him.]

I know it's a strange question, but I've been wondering sometimes.
