[He hikes the bag up on his shoulders and skips up next to her. Aside from cool photos, he never really liked all the hiking and walking and nature-ness back home. But it's much more bearable with a pretty girl.]
[He gives low whistle gauging how far they have yet to go.]
At least the weather's nice!
[Regardless, he manages to bounce around snapping off photos while making the climb, happy to point out interesting things or chatter about filters and the light and is she sure she doesn't want help with the cooler?]
[Kaname happily listens, conversing as well. It's a nice lighthearted trek and something she appreciates, especially with him. About halfway up, she stops, sets the cooler dow, and sits on top of it. Her hands reach towards the sky in a stretch as she sighs loudly.]
Let's take a short breather. I'm getting thirsty.
[Since he's probably nearby, Kaname reaches over to the pack he's wearing and pulls a water bottle out of a side pocket. One she's finished, she holds it out to him.]
It won't be too long, since we're aiming for the top.
[Still, it's his birthday, and she knows how much he loves photos. Kaname leans forward and drapes her arms over his shoulders in a sort of awkward hug from behind.
He gets a kiss on his temple before she rests her head against his with a laugh. In any of their pictures together, her happiness is always genuine.]
[Getting to the top means no more climbing to the top! He's also excited to see what's up there.
He takes several photos, leaning back against her to make sure both their happy faces fill the lens. It makes him feel like he could run a hundred miles without stopping. Once he has his fill, he sets the camera aside and turns to face her.]
Hands free for photos, remember? That's part of your birthday.
[As they continue their journey, Kaname does start to hum a little. It might sound suspiciously like a happy birthday song. Or maybe he's imagining that.]
[He goes back to snapping off photos, but keeping an eye on Kaname in case the cooler does get too heavy - he has no idea how heavy it is... It could be full of feathers for all he knows.
He hopes he's not imagining the song. Even if he is, he smiles all the brighter. The trip to the top seems to take no time at all.]
[Once at the top, she all but drops the cooler under a tree with a sigh of relief. There are a couple trees up there, by the way. For ambiance. Roll with it. She goes to Prompto to get him to unload the backpack so she can take the roll at the bottom.
Turns out it's a pretty big blanket, which she sets up on the ground under the tree as well. With that done, Kaname goes to him once again, and making sure he's not taking a picture, wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him into a tight hug.]
Hey. [There's that same silly smile that only he can get out of her.]
[He takes a few pictures while she gets the blanket sorted, and puts the camera away when she comes back to him. He loves that smile, and squeezes her back just as tightly before hooking his hands behind her back.]
I didn't spend all my time working on things for the concert. [That never happened in the end. Shh.] I knew your birthday was coming up, too, and I wanted to make it a good one.
[For a few moments before pulling away, Kaname simply rests more of her weight against him and kisses him on the cheek.]
Come on, if I'm hungry now, I bet you are, too. [She takes his hand and tugs him over to the blanket to sit.]

He receives a chuckle and a shake of her head, helpless to stop the picture.]
You'd think you have enough of those by now.
[She turns, adjusting her hold on the cooler, then starts up the hill.]
We've got a climb ahead of us, best not to wait too long.

How far are we headed?
[Click click goes the camera.]

[Still, it's a nice sort of compliment. She spares glances at him, mostly keeping her eyes on the path ahead.]
Hopefully to the top.
[And if he looks now... It's definitely a substantial hike.]

You, too.

Thanks.
But if we're going to relax for a bit, I need to do something first.
[He sits down in front of her and pulls out the camera, angling it to get both their faces in the shot.] Selfie!

I'm ready whenever you are.

[Standing from the cooler, she stretches her arms up before reaching down and picking it up once more.]
It'll be a relief when we're up there-- this'll be a lot lighter.
[Maybe she's teasing him a little, since he has yet to find out what's inside. Either way, off they go.]

[He pulls the backpack on, buckling the strap across his chest to ease the load, and continues up the path with her.]
