[Her own smile never leaves her face and only growing when he's looking at her in return. Kaname scooches closer, smile turning into more of a grin as she settles in again.]

Looks like it's a little earlier than I intended to wake up.

[He stifles and yawn, lazily reaching to tug on the hem of the jersey - his jersey - that she decided to sleep in.]

Awake doesn't mean we have to get up.

Not at all. We don't have anything waiting for us right now anyway.

[Beneath the covers, she reaches over to lightly tap his bare chest.]

It's been a year now. Can you believe that?

[One of his feet sneaks over to hook on her ankle.]

Yes. And no. Can it be both?

Mm. Right now, it can be whatever you'd like.

[Kaname's more relaxed here than she has been in a long time. With the minimal space left between them, angles in and kisses his cheek, hand sliding from his chest and going around his back to rest between his shoulder blades. The contact is satisfying judging by her small hum.]

How'd you sleep?

Then both.

[He sighs happily.]

Good. Better'n a while.

[Following calibrations, sleep had been touch and go, and often disturbed by nightmares. They'd been fading, but it was nice to get several blissful hours and to wake up warm and safe and with the love of his life.]

Of course. After last night it would've been difficult not to. [Now there's a little mischief in her eyes, reminding him of what they'd been up to.]

You reminded me again that you're a lot stronger than you might look.

[Her fingers trace little patterns on his back.]

Ha. Well, y'know... [He turns a familiar shade of red and hides it by yanking her closer and burying his face in her hair.

And then he freezes and frowns.]

What do you mean, stronger than I look?

[A huff of amusement escapes her, followed by a round of giggles at his frown-- she can feel that.]

Nothing bad at all, I promise. [Since she's pulled close now, she makes a point to snuggle up to him, sighing against him as well.]

[He hums like he's not quite sure he believes her, but lets it go.

Anyway, this is nice.]

[The hum gets a little poke from her to dissuade any doubt. Or try to.]

[She should be able to feel him shake his head, even if his grin is hidden.]

[She exhales in amusement again, breath warm against his chest.]
