[He laughs and goes in for another kiss, and rests his forehead against hers.]

It makes me happy you think so.

[Of course he's met with another kiss. She lets their heads rest together for a moment before stepping back a little.]

I know you're tired now, but do you think you can muster up some energy for something else?

[He only whines a little at her pulling away, but something else? He can always find extra energy reserves.]

Can do! But, uh, you don't have to. [A token protest. He knows how these things go by now.]

You've heard of the Knorst Cliffs, right?

[Kaname totally ignores his protest, though she stays in his grasp.]

I wanted to see how you felt about rock climbing. Maybe a hike instead. If you're up for it anyway.

[That sure is a challenge. A finger pokes his upper arm.]

I've been wanting to see those.

[But rock climbing... He wasn't a big fan of overexertion. If there was an easier way to get up a hill, he'd rather do that.

Buuut if she wants to scale a cliff, he'll scale a damn cliff. With his arms.]

The point is doing what you want. It's your birthday after all.

[Now she fully removes herself from his hold and makes a step to the way out of the work area.]

Or we can simply go back to the ship and relax. I'm yours all day.

[Birthdays are awesome. He bounces along with her to keep pace.]

No, no. Hiking the cliffs will be fun. I bet there's tons to photograph up there.

That's why I suggested it. [Kaname knows how much he loves taking photos. Also, it might make up for the weird way valentine's day played out.]

Once we reach the starting point, I'll need your help with something, though. Is that all right?

[Though it's not like he's all that hard to figure out.]

Yeah, of course. Everything's okay, though?

If I didn't know a few things by now, I'd be a pretty bad girlfriend.

[They reach the edge of the scrap yard (the shop was pretty near the edge itself) and Kaname stops to look at him with a chuckle.]

Everything's okay, I promise. I'd tell you if it wasn't. [She reaches out for his hand.]

[He threads his fingers with hers with a smile.]

Okay. Good. [No bad news on his birthday!]

[He receives the smile she has just for him. Only good things today!

So there's some traveling by car or whatever to get to the spot for the hike's beginning-- should be enough time for Prompto regain some strength by resting a little. Once they get out, there are a few things waiting for them.

One is a pretty sizable backpack with what looks like a bedroll attached. Another is a medium sized cooler with a handle on either side of it. Kaname heads for the cooler, taking hold of it.]

If you can carry the pack, I'd really appreciate it.

[Isn't this curious. And not what he was expecting. He hops over to the pack.]

Sure thing. What is all this?

[He tests the weight of the pack before hefting it onto his shoulders and offering a hand to help with the cooler as well.]

A plan.

[It's all she says with a grin, taking the entire cooler herself and shaking her head at him.]

You'll need your hands free for taking photos, right? [It's not a light burden exactly, but she can certainly manage.]

Look down. [Right where the pack was is a familiar looking holster with an even more familiar camera strapped inside.]

Oh man!

[He dives for the camera, getting it situated and wondering when and how she'd got a hold of it without his noticing.]

You're the best!

[He hops over to kiss her cheek, and then takes her picture.]

[When Kaname puts her mind to something, it gets done one way or another. It's best not to question it.

He receives a chuckle and a shake of her head, helpless to stop the picture.]

You'd think you have enough of those by now.

[She turns, adjusting her hold on the cooler, then starts up the hill.]

We've got a climb ahead of us, best not to wait too long.

Ha! Never.

[He hikes the bag up on his shoulders and skips up next to her. Aside from cool photos, he never really liked all the hiking and walking and nature-ness back home. But it's much more bearable with a pretty girl.]

How far are we headed?

[Click click goes the camera.]

You're exaggerating.

[Still, it's a nice sort of compliment. She spares glances at him, mostly keeping her eyes on the path ahead.]

Hopefully to the top.

[And if he looks now... It's definitely a substantial hike.]

[He gives low whistle gauging how far they have yet to go.]

At least the weather's nice!

[Regardless, he manages to bounce around snapping off photos while making the climb, happy to point out interesting things or chatter about filters and the light and is she sure she doesn't want help with the cooler?]

It really is. I'm glad.

[Kaname happily listens, conversing as well. It's a nice lighthearted trek and something she appreciates, especially with him. About halfway up, she stops, sets the cooler dow, and sits on top of it. Her hands reach towards the sky in a stretch as she sighs loudly.]

Let's take a short breather. I'm getting thirsty.

[Since he's probably nearby, Kaname reaches over to the pack he's wearing and pulls a water bottle out of a side pocket. One she's finished, she holds it out to him.]

You, too.

[He shucks the bag, setting it near the cooler, before taking the water and gulping some down and handing it back.]

Thanks.

But if we're going to relax for a bit, I need to do something first.

[He sits down in front of her and pulls out the camera, angling it to get both their faces in the shot.] Selfie!

It won't be too long, since we're aiming for the top.

[Still, it's his birthday, and she knows how much he loves photos. Kaname leans forward and drapes her arms over his shoulders in a sort of awkward hug from behind.

He gets a kiss on his temple before she rests her head against his with a laugh. In any of their pictures together, her happiness is always genuine.]

Snap away.

Can't wait!

[Getting to the top means no more climbing to the top! He's also excited to see what's up there.

He takes several photos, leaning back against her to make sure both their happy faces fill the lens. It makes him feel like he could run a hundred miles without stopping. Once he has his fill, he sets the camera aside and turns to face her.]

I'm ready whenever you are.

All right. Let's get back to it!

[Standing from the cooler, she stretches her arms up before reaching down and picking it up once more.]

It'll be a relief when we're up there-- this'll be a lot lighter.

[Maybe she's teasing him a little, since he has yet to find out what's inside. Either way, off they go.]

Sure I can't help you with that?

[He pulls the backpack on, buckling the strap across his chest to ease the load, and continues up the path with her.]
