[It's early in the morning after their first busy day (and night~) in the cabin together. Used to getting up early, Kaname cracks an eye open when the sun first shines through the curtains from the bedside window. She's quick to remember her surroundings and company, her smile reappearing when she notices her boyfriend's arm over her midsection.
She carefully turns to face him and wait for him to wake up as well.]
[He'd become more of a light sleeper when safety became something of a myth. Time on the fleet had helped in lulling him back into deeper rest, but he would still wake if there were any changes near him - often falling right back asleep when he assessed there was no danger.
It takes some minutes before his eyes blink sleepily open and he finds Kaname already awake and looking at him. He quirks a small smile.] Hey.
[Her own smile never leaves her face and only growing when he's looking at her in return. Kaname scooches closer, smile turning into more of a grin as she settles in again.]
Looks like it's a little earlier than I intended to wake up.
[Kaname's more relaxed here than she has been in a long time. With the minimal space left between them, angles in and kisses his cheek, hand sliding from his chest and going around his back to rest between his shoulder blades. The contact is satisfying judging by her small hum.]
[Following calibrations, sleep had been touch and go, and often disturbed by nightmares. They'd been fading, but it was nice to get several blissful hours and to wake up warm and safe and with the love of his life.]

[He stifles and yawn, lazily reaching to tug on the hem of the jersey - his jersey - that she decided to sleep in.]
Awake doesn't mean we have to get up.

[Beneath the covers, she reaches over to lightly tap his bare chest.]
It's been a year now. Can you believe that?
no subject
Yes. And no. Can it be both?

How'd you sleep?
no subject
[He sighs happily.]
Good. Better'n a while.
[Following calibrations, sleep had been touch and go, and often disturbed by nightmares. They'd been fading, but it was nice to get several blissful hours and to wake up warm and safe and with the love of his life.]
You too?
no subject
You reminded me again that you're a lot stronger than you might look.
[Her fingers trace little patterns on his back.]

And then he freezes and frowns.]
What do you mean, stronger than I look?
no subject
Nothing bad at all, I promise. [Since she's pulled close now, she makes a point to snuggle up to him, sighing against him as well.]
Thank you. For this, and everything.
no subject
Anyway, this is nice.]
You really like it?
no subject
I really do. You make me very happy, and this just adds to that. Is there anything I can do for you, too?
no subject
I don't need anything else. Just you.
no subject
How can you make something sound so silly and wonderful at the same time? [Kaname's eyes slowly close as she sighs happily.]
I love you.
