[It's later in the evening, and an idea's occurred to Kaname. Since it's something that could hopefully benefit Prompto, too, she gives him a call. Either way, it'd be nice to spend time with him. It always is.]

Prompto, are you free tomorrow?

[Always happy to answer a call from Kaname, he's all smiles on the other end.]

I can be. What's up?

[axi]

[Of course she's smiling too, but his expression just softens hers.]

I was thinking of doing some major shopping, specifically for some furniture. A new desk chair, hopefully. It might be a bit of a trip, and I wanted to see if your muscles would be up to the task.

[She winks. It's a nice combination of sincerity and humor.]

[this_loser]

Uh...

[There's a flicker of uncertainty, quickly replaced by a huge grin and the angle of the video changing so he can flex one arm.]

Hells yeah they're up to the task! When and where?

[axi]

[Kaname does catch the uncertainty, but his subsequent show causes her to giggle. It wouldn't be all on him anyway.]

Tomorrow morning around ten. I'll meet you, and then we can head over. It'll be worth your while. Sound good?

[Meaning she'll buy lunch.]

Sounds great. I... [The image goes wonky again, but this time is most certainly because he tripped over something. He comes back grinning, a little embarrassed.]

[... wait.

Kaname stares at her comm for a good length of time. Well then.

Time to head on over there. Give her like ten minutes.]

[this_loser]

[Sure sure. She can take all the time she needs. He's not going anywhere. At most, he drops onto his bed, still staring dumbly at the communicator and replaying his last words over and over. That wasn't how he wanted to tell her.]

[axi]

[When she gets to his ship, Kaname doesn't even bother knocking on his door. So she enters without warning and simply stands there, really not sure where to start.]

Uh, hi...

[this_loser]

[And there she is.]

Heeeeey. Kinda figured you'd be by... Wanna sit?

[He scooches over to make room.]

[axi]

[Kaname nods, sitting on the edge of the bed beside him.]

Thanks. [Pause.] You stumbled before, didn't you? Are you all right?

[this_loser]

Uh...

[He's caught off guard by the question. He'd already forgotten about that.]

Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Toes got tangled. You know how it is.

[axi]

[She really doesn't, but it does make her smile. He gets lightly nudged with her elbow. Why isn't his arm around her yet?]

Do you want to ask, or will you start us off?

[this_loser]

[He's nervous! He laughs weakly.]

I didn't mean to say it like that.

[axi]

[That probably answers her first question, but she wants to be sure. So Kaname looks over at him curiously.]

But you wanted to say it?

[this_loser]

We'll...yeah! Just, better. I thought there'd be flowers. Or a sunset.

[axi]

[Well all right then. Kaname can feel her face getting a little warm, but she's smiling.]

There's always another time. [She leans and rests her head on his shoulder.]

Hey, Prompto?

[this_loser]

[But there will never be another first time.

Though this did, kinda, relieve some of the stress over how and when to say it, even if it wasn't perfect.

He gets his arm around her shoulders and plants a kiss on the top of her head.]

Hm?

[axi]

I love you, too.

[Kaname says it with ease, surprising even herself. It feels natural in a way.

Her smile's a sort of shy one as she snuggles closer to him.]

[It's not something he's used to hearing. It's time for a big hug.]

I don't know what I did to deserve you.

[axi]

[A chuckle escapes her, and she angles her head to kiss him where she can. It happens to be the side of his chin.]

It has nothing to do with that. You make me happy, and that's the simplest way I can put it. Do you want me to elaborate more? [Kaname's only half joking. She will if he wants her to.]

[this_loser]

[He laughs at the kiss, and returns it to her forehead.]

Better not. I'll turn all red. And ... and I wanna take a picture!

[axi]

I'm still considering it. Red's a good color on you.

[For once, regarding the picture, Kaname shakes her head. She moves from his side to his lap, positioning herself to face him, a leg on either side oh his. Her arms rest on his shoulders as she smiles.]

I wanted to see your face this time. [Leaning in a little bit, she says it again.] I love you.

[No? No picture? That seems very unfair.

But probably for the best because his face flushes a moment later, though he's positively beaming. He has to fight the urge to pull her closer so he can hide his face.]

[He didn't get to say it properly before.]

[Actually, yes picture! Except Kaname's snagging his camera and snapping a shot of his wonderfully red beaming smile.]

I get to keep this one. [She leans forward and kisses his forehead right between his brows.]
