He lets Prompto pull him in, his eyes halting on the cheesecake, not just due to the berries but also the memory that it stirs up. Hadn't they talked about that before...?
[ She watches on as Prompto pulls Noctis is, smiling. Noctis is not fine, hasn’t been for these past few days, and if it’s one virtue that she appreciates about him, it’s his honesty. ]

[ Well! The cutting knife will go to Prompto to do the honors, and the wine she'll uncork herself, pouring them each a hearty portion of the drink. And while they're busy serving each other their first slice of cheesecake, preparing their slide-show dessert and wine--

And because Pyra made the mistake of giving Prompto the knife, everyone will get nice big slices of cheesecake because what is portion control. Not at this party!
When the flowers come out, though, he needs to stop and take a breath.]
[Prompto's not the only one. Noctis might not even recognize them on sight before - he's not a botanist or anything - but he'd been thinking about them recently, especially with all of the flowers cropping up last... month? Yeah, it was last month, here.
He doesn't speak, but he has the same question in his gaze as he glances over at Pyra, idly lifting a hand to brush his fingers over one of the gladiolus blossoms. He just saw Gladio recently and things have been... difficult... since Altissia, so the sight of them is somewhat bittersweet, but the reminder isn't a bad thing.]
[ She looks from Prompto's enthusiastic response to Noctis' more subdued one, smiling nonetheless. ]

The irises remind her of a droplet of ink blooming in water; the gladioluses, like receding stormclouds at dawn. They complement each other. Lifting a hand to tuck a strand behind her ear, she sighs. ] Aren't they lovely?
[He might cry. He won't, because this is supposed to be a happy time. But, gods, it's been so long - three weird years - since he's laid eyes on Gladio, or Iris. He's never "gone home" in all that time.]

[Hard to miss the severity of Prompto's reaction, even with Noct's poor mental state; he leans over, bumping his arm against his friend's. It's easy to forget, with how cheerful he always seems and how much shorter an absence it's been for the rest of them, just how long Prompto has gone without seeing home or many of their friends. This little party may be to cheer him up, but hopefully it'll help the other two as well. Things have been rough all around for a while now.]
